What if?

What if everything you had ever done, didn't matter?
 
What if everything you had ever said or thought left no trace?
 
You would be free.
 
What if every holy book, regardless of how wonderful, was now obsolete?
 
What if the words meant nothing?
 
And what if who wrote them - is no longer significant?
 
You would be so much lighter.
 
What if there was just a current of universal energy of which you are made?
 
And what if, that current, if you added nothing to it, is a bright shining light - and this is all you are? 
 
You would look on your life so differently.
 
And your body too.
 
What if that light became more your experience, the more you stayed with that than everything else?
 
What if, the more you concentrated on something else, the less you felt that light, got heavier and felt pain?
 
You would be careful what you focussed on.
 
And possibly you would stop at least 90% of what you are doing.
 
There are no great secrets.
 
There is nothing hidden from you.
 
The light of you self-reveals when you are quiet and focused.
 
Then you are creative, happier and more at peace.
 
You get yourself into much less trouble and other people, regardless of how they are behaving, trouble you less too.
 
Some are more interested in the taste of light, others accept a world without this.
 
Regardless of what they say, there is a universal current.
 
And regardless of what they say, you are made of universal light.

Commentary.
 
We spend so much time worrying about what we should and shouldn't be. Meanwhile we never act - and tie ourselves up in knots deliberating before doing so. Have you noticed? Now we ask for permission to act. We don't feel we have the right to do, say or even think something. We look things up to find out "how" to do something - trying to give a "why". We have become mostly passive and accepting of incredibly negative harmful things. We don't tackle the main or the big problems. Only smaller more personal things. And when we do act, we constantly live in the past trying to fix what happened or we project into the future, curiously waiting for it to somehow arrive and knock on our door. Almost everything we do is predicated on synthetic action, constructed for us by others, rather than real action out of just the purity of our own selves. What if, we just lived directly from ourselves, unmediated and uncensored, putting aside all that other stuff? Would negative external authority have so much power and control over us? Would we live in so much fear and even be facing what we are today? -- Kathmandu is a city of lights. Shrines and sacred stops on every street corner. A tumult of people, noise and confusion all weaving in and out in perfect procession. Smells. Dust. Noise. Religious artefacts and North Face cheap copies. And ... thali, dal tarka, and endless masala chai ... An ancient city. As ancient as they come. All the spiritual greats come from Nepal. So many mountains, the dripping hot and the freezing cold. Poverty and statues. Monasteries and monkeys. When you step into this place, the world closes behind you. It is a gateway to another realm which existed long ago. That place is still here, alive and well on this planet. Few can accept it but the invitation is always there. Each destination, a part of the universal light. And 3 great flames on Earth.
